mean tool prove it self with simple entry and git cooperativity any database can be bundled with its tool, mean is implementable using bash but will need to be written in separate file instead of an unified tool git for windows come with gnu tool and vim. that include grep for recursive regex searching. if the set of tool is written in bash and saved in the root dir then the database will be usable on any platform using git. including windows with all data stored in an hidden .db directory, more chance that all interaction to be handled through provided tool and more chance the data stay consistent. also git operation can be managed using the tool to enforce a specific workflow in the end you have a replicatable and portable transactional database that only require git.
